The Lagos State Government, on Monday, received an award for the most accessible healthcare in the country.

News About Nigeria gathered that the Healthcare Equity and Access Award received by the Lagos State Government was in recognition of the state’s dedication to accessible healthcare.

The Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Health District 3, Dr Monsurat Adeleke, was the recipient of the award, receiving it on behalf of the state government at the just concluded Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria Awards in Lagos, as stated on Monday.

The Private Sector Health Alliance is a business platform where private sectors pool capabilities, assets, resources, and expertise to complement the efforts of the government, partners, and implementors to accelerate improvement in health outcomes in Nigeria.

The Permanent Secretary, while receiving the award on behalf of the state government, observed that the state government was making amazing strides in the healthcare sector.

She noted that the fact that the state government outdid 6,000 nominees to win the prestigious award of the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria spoke volumes for the state.

She further noted that the award was an indication of the commitment of the governor to ensuring THEMES PLUS becomes greater in Lagos State.

The acronym stands for Transportation and Traffic Management; Health and Environment; Education and Technology; Making Lagos State a 21st Century Megacity, Entertainment & Tourism; and Security & Governance, with the “plus” meaning that the governor would give extra focus to its realization, will, according to Governor Sanwo Olu, enhance access to high-quality, efficient healthcare services for the state’s growing population.

She dedicated the award to Sanwo-Olu and the entire healthcare workforce in the state for their commitment and relentless efforts in ensuring that healthcare and health results in Lagos are on par with those of developed nations, without geographical, financial, cultural, or political barriers.
