FG Explains Samoa Agreement, Says It Will Benefit Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has charged his ministers and aides to set aside their personal ambitions and focus on building Nigeria, News About Nigeria reports.

The President stated that one of his administration’s goals is to lift 50 million Nigerians out of poverty.

He made this declaration during his closing remarks at the end of the three-day cabinet retreat for ministers, presidential aides, permanent secretaries, and top government functionaries held at the State House Conference Centre on Friday in Abuja.

President Tinubu also noted that his cabinet members cannot make any excuses, just as he will not be providing any excuses to Nigerians. Therefore, they must give their best and ensure that the administration delivers the mandate they promised to Nigerians.

Tinubu further emphasized that they owe Nigerians the responsibility of changing the narrative about the country. In his own words, “You’re not here to make excuses, neither am I. You must put aside personal ambitions and focus on the progress of our nation. We have a responsibility to our country to completely change the narrative about Nigeria.”

He also stated that Nigeria has a lot of work ahead, and the responsibilities of the ministers are not merely titles but an agenda to give hope to Nigerians.

The President called for deeper and stronger collaboration between the ministers, who are appointees, and the permanent secretaries, noting that such a relationship would help rebuild the nation.

He also advised them to resolve conflicts through constructive dialogue when they arise.
