Ogun Governor Restates Commitment To Citizens’ Well-Being

The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has underscored his administration’s unwavering dedication to advancing the state’s development, News About Nigeria reports. 

Governor Abiodun expressed his firm commitment during the Egba Division Town Hall meeting, which focused on the 2024–2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the 2024 Appropriation Bill.

The event took place at the Cultural Centre Kuto Abeokuta, where the governor’s sentiments were conveyed by his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele.

Governor Abiodun stressed that his pact with the people of Ogun State, as well as his solemn pledge to God, obligate him to maintain the momentum of development.

He affirmed that the policies and programs of his administration were designed with the best interests of the majority of citizens in mind, irrespective of factors such as ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, or social status.

He said; “What you see in our system is a strategic approach towards the formulation and implementation of our policies and programs, which are geared towards the welfare, wellness, and wellbeing of our people.

“The ongoing developmental strides being experienced across the state are clear demonstrations of our administration’s resolve to continue to be fair, just, accountable, transparent, equitable, and dedicated to a democratic ethos.”

Governor Abiodun made a resounding call for collaboration among critical stakeholders in the state’s journey towards progress, emphasising the importance of working together to build a better future.

Dapo Okubadejo, the state Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, conveyed the government’s commitment to increasing inclusiveness and budgetary allocation as part of their efforts to propel the state forward.

Furthermore, the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Olaolu Olabimtan, affirmed the governor’s commitment not only to completing ongoing projects but also to initiating new ones aimed at improving the quality of life for the state’s residents.

During the meeting, former Senator of Ogun Central, Sen. Gbenga Obadara, drew attention to the need for road improvements, particularly the route leading to the train station at Laderin in Abeokuta, which holds historical significance for the people of Egbaland.

He also advocated for enhancements to the Adatan Road.

The Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, represented by the Osile of Oke-Ona, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, expressed gratitude to the state government for its support and recognition of traditional institutions.

He also urged the government to take proactive steps toward fixing the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, a critical infrastructure in the region.
