Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has filed a N2.3 billion suit before the High Court of Delta State against Afrobeat artiste, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, over an alleged breach of agreement/contract between them, News About Nigeria reports.

Listed as defendants in the suit are Davido and his music label, Davido Music Worldwide Limited.

Pinnick had on October 7, 2023, called out Davido for allegedly failing to show up at the 19th edition of Warri Again Concert in Delta.

Pinnick, who is currently an executive of the world football governing body FIFA, also claimed that Davido “received $94,600” to perform at the concert and that a plane was chartered for him, which cost another $18,000.

Davido neither denied nor confirmed the allegations.

Rather, he posted on his X handle, saying people who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

The claimant, under the name Brownhill Investments Company Limited, through its counsel, Kelechi Onwuegbuchulem, in suit number EHC/183/2023, is asking the court to award N2 billion as general damages against Davido.

In their suit, the claimant is praying the court for N150 million as legal and professional fees and an additional sum of N30 million as the cost of filing the suit.

They further asked the court for an order of injunction restraining Davido from performing as an artiste at any show or event in Nigeria until he refunds the sum of $94,500 (an equivalent of N70 million)

They are also praying the court to order Davido to tender a public apology on his social media handles and in two national daily newspapers for four consecutive days to the organizers and attendees of the show.
