Pastor Adegoke Jeremiah, who is the founder of Spirit Word Global Mission, has filed a lawsuit against Chef Dammy, demanding N20 million in damages following her allegations against him, News About Nigeria gathered.
This legal action comes after Chef Dammy accused Pastor Adegoke Jeremiah of threatening her life through a defamatory statement posted on her Instagram page.
She claimed that her life was in danger due to alleged threats, curses, and bullying from the cleric.
Through his solicitors, Pastor Adegoke Jeremiah issued Chef Dammy a seven-day ultimatum to retract the alleged libellous statement on social media and in two widely read national dailies.
Additionally, he is demanding N20 million in damages for the act of defamation against him.
The suit read in part; “Our client was taken aback while he read a defamatory statement about him which you posted on your Instagram page on Thursday, October 19, 2023. It is a libellous statement against our client and amounts to defamation.
“Our client has been inundated with several calls and messages from no fewer than two million people across the world expressing shock and awe with the defamatory statements you posted which is an imputation of crime against our client which has reduced him to nothing by those that accord him with so much respect.
“We demand a retraction of the libellous statement on all the social media particularly your Instagram page and two widely read national dailies. Additionally, we are demanding a sum of twenty million naira being damages for the act of defamation against our client.”
News About Nigeria previously reported that a church member had dragged Chef Dammy over her allegations against Pastor Adegoke Jeremiah.
The unidentified church member put Dammy on full blast, accusing her of lying everywhere and he dared the Ekiti chef to provide evidence to back up her claims of threat to life.
The young man further labelled Dammy a clout chaser seeking to trend with pastor Jeremiah’s church name.
According to him, Dammy has not been in contact with Jeremiah for over four months and wondered how someone she has not been in touch with would threaten her life.
