Unknown assailants have killed a Nasarawa State-based medical practitioner, Dr Stephen Angbas, who is the proprietor of Lafia-Angbas Clinic.

News About Nigeria gathered that the killing happened in the late hours of Tuesday as Angbas was returning from his farm on a motorcycle in the Awe Local Government Area of the state.

Confirming his death, the state’s police spokesperson, DSP Rahman Nansel, explained that Angbas was attacked together with a motorcycle rider, Mikalu Dahiru.

He further stated that Dahiru, however, survived the attack while the medical doctor couldn’t make it out of the attack.

In his words: “Mobile police operatives received distressing information regarding a fatal assault along the Jangargari-Awe Road.

“Tragically, the victims were a commercial motorcycle rider, Mikailu Dahiru, who survived the attack, and Dr. Angbass Stephen, who succumbed to his grievous injuries.”

He further expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, noting that the police have initiated a comprehensive investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.

According to him, the police in the state will ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book and will face the full extent of the law.

Nansel also stated that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Maiyaki Baba, encourages any member of the public with relevant information to come forward and assist in the swift apprehension of those responsible for the death of the medical doctor.

He further encouraged the people of the state not to panic as the police are handling the matter and will continue to ensure the safety of their lives and properties.
