Abba Yusuf: Kano Governor Suspended Over Anti-Party Activities

The Kano State Government has announced that it will sponsor a mass wedding ceremony for 1,800 couples from all 44 Local Government Areas of the state on Friday, October 13, 2023, News About Nigeria gathered.

The government stated that all necessary preparations for the event have been completed.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made this announcement after inspecting the arrangements made for the mass wedding, commending both the State Hisbah Board and the State Ministry of Health for their efforts in ensuring the success of the event.

Expressing his satisfaction with the level of preparations, Governor Yusuf also expressed his concern over the abandonment of uncompleted office buildings at the Hisbah headquarters for over eight years.

He noted the significant role played by the Hisbah Board in maintaining peace, security, addressing marriage-related issues, and curbing societal vices. The governor pledged that his administration would prioritize the Hisbah Board’s needs and provide it with the necessary attention.

“Despite the significant role played by Hisbah Board in ensuring peace, security, mitigating marriage couples and societal vices the board has not received proper attention from the previous administration in the last 8 years.

“This government will ensure that the board receives all the necessary attention it needs,” the governor assured.

Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, the Commander General of the Hisbah Board, welcomed the government’s efforts as timely.

He emphasised that the initiative would help combat sexual abuse and provide support to people during the current economic challenges.
