The Director of Media and Publicity of the Tinubu Shettima Presidential Campaign Council at the 2023 presidential election, Bayo Onanuga, has slammed Western nations for taking sides with Israel in the ongoing standoff with the Hamas sect.

Mr Onanuga, in an article titled “Palestine Expose Western Hypocrisy,” said western nations are incurable hypocrites.

He wondered why the same nations that supported Ukraine in its fight against Russia’s oppression failed to see the reason for Hamas’ kickback.

Mr Ononuga alleged that Israel had continued to defy pact it signed with the United Nations by its continued forceful encroachment of the Palestinian territory.

“The Israeli-Gaza war has exposed Western nations for what they are: incurable hypocrites. The same people that support Ukraine in its fight to drive away Russian aggressors and occupiers, fail to see the justification for the long-abused, oppressed Palestinians to also stand up and free their land from Israeli occupiers, who treat them as sub-humans. Israel this year before the outbreak of war last Saturday had killed over 200 Palestinians,” Mr Onanuga wrote.

Berating Western nations for taking sides with Israel, Mr Onanuga however reiterated that Hamas is fighting for the right cause.

Mr Onanuga’s stand, however, negates that of former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria Kingsley Moghalu who suggested that it was only normal for Israeli forces to retaliate since the attack was unprovoked.

News About Nigeria recalls that Hamas sect over last weekend attacked Israeli communities, killing and capturing many civilians.

However, Israeli forces immediately initiated a retaliatory attack raising the death toll recorded from the dispute to over 1,000.

President Bola Tinubu, over the weekend, pleaded for a ceasefire, urging both nations to resolve to a diplomatic means of settling the dispute.
