Owodunni Ibrahim popularly known as Primeboy, has refuted claims that the Lagos State Police Command invited him before declaring him wanted on Tuesday.

Primeboy, a close friend of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, was declared wanted for allegedly failing to respond to a police invitation regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of the former Marlian records’ signee.

Speaking in an interview with the private television station TVC before turning himself in on Wednesday, Primeboy stated that he had never received any invitation from the police.

He explained that he had intended to visit the police station to clear his name when people began accusing him of involvement in Mohbad’s death.

Primeboy said, “I have never received a message of invitation from the police; it is a big lie that I did. Before this issue of declaring me wanted sprang up, I had wanted to explain myself at the station after people started accusing me of killing Mohbad.

“The people I reached out to, including my lawyer, advised that I should wait for a police invitation rather than going there to explain myself.”

Responding to questions about whether he was with Mohbad at his last show and if they had a dispute, Primeboy confirmed that they did have issues.

However, he explained that the disagreement arose due to a misunderstanding he had with his wife while they were in the car together on the day of Mohbad’s Ikorodu show.

Primeboy recounted, “He (Mohbad) was trying to alight from the car when the issue between him and his wife heated up. But I stopped him, advising that it wasn’t safe for him to do so since Zlatan was still performing.

“He then told me to come down from the car, and I did. I could tell that he was badly hurt from the way he was reacting that day.”

In addition, Primeboy questioned Mohbad’s wife for allegedly framing him on the internet in connection with the late singer’s death.

News About Nigeria reports that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death continues, with Primeboy currently in police detention.
