The Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Paul Enenche, on Wednesday, visited the family of the deceased pastor who died in the collapsed church building in Makurdi, Benue State, News About Nigeria gathered.
Enenche who visited the scene of the collapsed Church building offered praise to God, noting that the tragedy would have been worse.
The church building had collapsed very early on Tuesday morning (at about 1 a.m.) while five pastors of the church including the deceased resident pastor of the branch, Emmanuel Ahmed, were in a night prayer session.
Unfortunately, only the resident pastor of the branch, lost his life in the tragedy while four others escaped unhurt.
Dunamis senior pastor, who was accompanied by his wife, Dr Becky Enenche, addressed the gathering of members and sympathisers saying that the situation would have been worse but God averted a major tragedy that would have befallen his people.
Enenche, therefore, gave thanks to God that the incident did not occur during the 7-hour Liberty Service of the church that was held on Independence Day.
“So we thank God that it did not happen when the Church was filled to overflow.
“But I can assure you that affliction will not rise again,” he charged.
Enenche also mourned the deceased branch pastor, who he said was a committed and dedicated servant of God.
He also urged his family to be strong in the midst of the pain, praying that the Lord will comfort them.
Speaking on the structure of the collapsed building, he stated that the church usually applies due diligence whenever they are erecting structures but with this tragic occurrence, they would step up their game going forward.
