Prince George, a show promoter based in Canada, has revealed a detail about the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

According to George, Mohbad passed away on the very day his Canadian visa was approved, News About Nigeria reports.

George shared this revelation while speaking at a candlelight procession organised by Nigerians in Toronto, Canada.

He explained that he had planned a surprise for Mohbad’s best friend, Bella Shmurda, during the latter’s show in Canada by bringing Mohbad to the event.

On that fateful morning, he sent a message to Mohbad’s manager, notifying him that the singer’s visa had been approved.

However, to his shock, he received the news of Mohbad’s mysterious death.

“I had planned to surprise the late singer’s best friend, Bella Shmurda, during the latter’s show in Canada by bringing Mohbad to the show.

“I sent a message to Mohbad’s manager in the morning of the day he died to inform him that his visa had been approved, only to be told that Mohbad had died mysteriously”, he said.

Bella Shmurda also attended the event and struggled to find words to address the audience.

He expressed sadness and shock over the loss of his dear friend, describing Mohbad as his brother, best friend, and close companion.

Bella Shmurda recounted how he had seen Mohbad just before leaving Nigeria, only to receive the devastating news of his death two to three days later.

He revealed that even his mother had called him to advise against returning home in the wake of the tragedy.
