Mohbad’s mother has revealed the reasons behind her secretive approach to her relationship with the deceased artiste.
In a revealing interview with TVC, she shared that her son’s life had been marred by physical attacks and bullying after his departure from Marlian Music, compelling her to keep her identity concealed.
During the interview, Mrs Aloba also fondly recalled how Mohbad had taken exceptional care of her and consistently sought her presence despite the challenges he faced.
She explained, “I don’t tell people I’m Mohbad’s mother because he was scared I might get kidnapped or killed.”
News About Nigeria reports that Mrs Aloba further disclosed that she had only spent five months in the new house that Mohbad had rented for her, and he had visited her three times during that period.
Mohbad had relocated her from her previous residence to Ikorodu, expressing his desire to visit her regularly.
Detailing the extent of her son’s care, Mrs Aloba said, “He just rented a huge space comprising of 3 shops for me. I’m yet to open it. He gave me money that I used to buy 2 big freezers and a big generator. The day he died, he promised to send N5 million so I can buy goods to stock up.”
However, recent events and recurring attacks on Mohbad prompted her fears for her safety and her son’s well-being.
She revealed that Mohbad lived in constant fear, and even when she visited him, he would shake his head and express his anxiety.
She recounted that he had been subjected to physical assaults even after dropping his EP and would frequently report these incidents to the police.
