Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has disclosed that the nurse who treated the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, known as Mohbad before his passing has been arrested.
News About Nigeria reports that she made this announcement in a video message shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday night, where she updated fans about her visit to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police and the progress in the police investigation of Mohbad’s death.
In her statement, Iyabo Ojo mentioned that the police have made several arrests related to Mohbad’s death, with the nurse being one of them.
She also noted that the police have called on some individuals to voluntarily turn themselves in for questioning.
The death of Mohbad occurred in a controversial manner on September 12, 2023. His father, James Aloba, expressed suspicions that the auxiliary nurse who administered an injection to Mohbad before his death may have played a role in complicating his son’s health.
News About Nigeria reported that Iyabo Ojo, Foluke Daramola, Kiekie, Chioma, and legal representatives, met with the police commissioner to make appeals and raise concerns about the tragic death of Mohbad and issues related to cyberbullying on social media.
During the meeting, Foluke requested a dignified burial for Mohbad and sought protection for his wife and child.
She stressed that Mohbad’s mother had consented to a proper burial following an autopsy.
Iyabo Ojo expressed concern about the prevalence of cyberbullying on social media platforms, especially among young people, and called for an urgent response to harassment and threats on social media.
She emphasised that such actions should have legal consequences and urged the police to explore the legal framework surrounding online threats.
