A viral video has emerged depicting an Ikorodu resident, possibly a community leader, disclosing that Mohbad’s father intended to bury his son in the middle of the night on the day of his demise.
In the video, a woman asserted that Mohbad’s father was facing criticism for hastily burying his son the day after his death, even though he was not a Muslim.
In response, the man explained that the father had initially intended to bury his son at midnight but was prevented from doing so.
He recounted that the father had contacted him earlier, but he had not responded to his call.
According to the chairman, they had brought shovels to dig the grave in preparation for the midnight burial.
However, he intervened and prevented the burial from taking place in the dead of night.
“It was me who didn’t allow them to bury him. They wanted to bring his body in the midnight. He (Mohbad’s father) called me; I didn’t answer him at first. I said they could not bury him at midnight. They’ve brought shovel here already,” the man explained.
News About Nigeria reports that the mysterious circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death on September 12 have sparked protests across the country.
His swift burial in Ikorodu raised questions about why his family proceeded with the burial without conducting a thorough investigation into the cause of his death.
In a video, producer K-Solo confirmed that the late artiste’s father had granted permission for the police to exhume Mohbad’s body.
“They have agreed that I think they should exhume this midnight or first thing tomorrow morning,” he said.
