Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has issued a statement regarding the tragic passing of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
In the statement released on X, the governor expressed his awareness of the sad event and assured the public that they have been actively cooperating with relevant authorities and closely monitoring the ongoing investigations.
To enhance the investigative process, Sanwo-Olu announced the involvement of the Department of State Services (DSS) in collaboration with other agencies, utilising advanced technology to uncover the truth surrounding Mohbad’s death.
Furthermore, the governor emphasised his commitment to ensuring that anyone found to have played a role in the events leading to Mohbad’s demise faces the full force of the law, following a comprehensive investigation.
“However, in order to boost the investigations, I have invited the Department of State Services (DSS) to join the investigation and widen the dragnet with inter-agency collaboration and the use of best-in-class technology to unearth the truth.
“I have instructed that all those who may have played any role whatsoever in any event leading to the death of MohBad be made to face the law after a thorough investigation,” he said.
He urged individuals with vital information to come forward and assured the protection and confidentiality of witnesses during the investigative process. The police and the DSS pledged to provide periodic updates on their efforts to the public.
The governor also appealed to friends and fans of the late artiste to remain calm, avoid making inflammatory statements, and refrain from drawing prejudicial conclusions about the matter.
