Manchester United staff members have reportedly expressed concerns over the influence of Erik ten Hag’s agent, Kees Vos, on the club’s summer transfer dealings.
United made a number of signings during the summer transfer window, including Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, Sergio Reguilon, Sofyan Amrabat, and Altay Bayındır for a total of £178 million.
News About Nigeria gathered that Vos, who represents Ten Hag, is believed to have had a role in several of these transfers, raising eyebrows among some staff members.
Vos has been a frequent visitor to Old Trafford and the Carrington training facility. According to reports, Hojlund’s negotiations with Atalanta were handled by SEG, the agency Vos works with, as he had recently joined them before his move to United.
Similarly, Vos and SEG represented United in the signing of Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina.
Despite concerns, senior members of the club have expressed that they find Vos’ position and his association with Ten Hag acceptable, noting that such relationships between top clubs and specific agencies are not unusual.
Manchester United’s poor start to the 2023/24 Premier League season, where they currently sit in 13th place with six points from five games, has heightened the pressure on Ten Hag.
The club’s supporters have been hoping for a return to trophy-winning ways after a Premier League title drought since the 2012/2013 season.
However, Ten Hag has had a title to his name since joining Manchester United in 2022. He won the EFL Cup in his first season and helped the team finish third in the 2022/23 Premier League season, securing them a UEFA Champions League slot.
United are set to face Bayern Munich on Wednesday in the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League Group A matchday one.
