The father of deceased singer Mohbad has revealed that he only got N1 million from the N2 million that popular Nigerian singer Davido sent to him.
The father of the late artist revealed this in a live Instagram session that Instablog Naija uploaded on its official X page.
He added that Mohbad’s friend, who received the money from Davido, said that N1 million of the N2 million was used to purchase a coffin.
News About Nigeria recalls that Davido had sent N2 million to the father of the deceased singer to support the burial arrangement of the singer. However, the latest development comes as more controversies surrounding the death of the singer continue to surface.
Nigerians have continued to call for the arrest of his former label boss and popular Lagos socialite Sam Larry. The increased calls came after a petition written by the singer asking that the police protect him resurfaced on social media.
The singer had in the petition accused his former label boss and Sam Larry of damaging equipment worth N4 million during his video shoot.
However, the authorities have promised to look into what led to the singer’s passing.
Speaking on the news, Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the Lagos Police, stated that in an effort to determine what caused the singer’s death, the police may exhume the singer’s body.
Even as more people clamour for the socialite’s arrest, Sam Larry has already refuted allegations of complicity in the singer’s death by declaring that he loved Mohbad like a brother.
