Samson Balogun, known as Sam Larry, has strongly denied any involvement in the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad and expressed his love for the late artiste.
Following Mohbad’s demise, speculations arose, implicating Sam Larry and Naira Marley, Mohbad’s former boss, in the singer’s demise.
News About Nigeria reports that the speculations gained momentum after a video circulated on social media, showing Sam Larry and some individuals allegedly harassing Mohbad.
In the video, Mohbad and Zlatan were on the set for a music video shoot when Sam Larry and his group reportedly approached them in a confrontational manner.
Mohbad fled the scene in fear, while Zlatan intervened to prevent any potential altercation.
Addressing the controversy surrounding the video and Mohbad’s death, Sam Larry stated, “Mohbad was my brother, I liked him. Even at the time he was in Marlian Records, he knew I loved him. Even his wife and everyone know that I have love for him.
“I take him along to wherever I am going; Kenya, Dubai.
“Even if we are fighting, it shouldn’t be to the point of death. I cannot kill Mohbad. I loved him. God sees my heart. I know nothing about Mohbad’s death.”
He also clarified that the videos circulating on social media, including the one showing Mohbad in a wheelchair with Zlatan Ibile, were recorded a long time ago.
Sam Larry said that he didn’t touch Mohbad and suggested that anyone with doubts could seek confirmation from Zlatan.
“The videos going viral happened a long time ago. Even the one where he was in a wheelchair with Zlatan. Zlatan is my witness. You can ask him if I touched Mohbad,” he said.
