The ongoing Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) in Abuja has been a subject of discussion both on and off social media.
With proceedings taking place at the Court of Appeal Complex situated in the Three Arms Zone, Shehu Shagari Way, Central Business District of Abuja, the tribunal has garnered significant attention.
Videos seen by News About Nigeria featuring notable Nollywood stars, including Yul Edochie and Zack Orji, attending the tribunal have gone viral across online platforms.
In one of the videos, Yul Edochie, a vocal supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was seen paying rapt attention during the proceedings.
It’s worth noting that on August 19, 2023, Yul Edochie publicly declared his support for President Bola Tinubu.
Edochie took to his social media pages to express his unwavering support for the president, referring to himself as an ‘Asiwaju baby’.
He shared a photo of himself wearing branded attire featuring the image of President Tinubu, with the slogan ‘Relax, Jagaban will fix Nigeria’.
“Asiwaju boy. 100% unapologetically. I love Tinubu @officialaBAT. I believe in him and I’m praying for him to succeed,” Edochie tweeted.
In another news, PEPT ruled that the Labour Party (LP) and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, failed to specify how they secured the majority of lawful votes in the February 25 presidential election, News About Nigeria reports.
Delivering the lead judgment, Justice Abba Bello Mohammed emphasised that the LP had made generalised allegations of irregularities, voter suppression and corrupt practices aimed at undermining their votes, particularly in states such as Rivers, Benue, Lagos, Taraba, Imo, and Osun.
