Dele Momodu, the Director of Strategic Communications for the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council, claimed on Tuesday that Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers and the current minister of the FCT, is an unruly person who is determined to destroy the Peoples Democratic Party.

Speaking on Tuesday’s Political Paradigm broadcast on Channels TV, Momodu asserted that, if given the opportunity, he would have dismissed Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

In response to a question on why he would expel the former governor of Rivers State from the party, Momodu said, “Such an unruly person who wants to destroy our party? One individual cannot hold everybody to ransom. If we fought the military, we fought the military in this country, Tinubu was part of those who fought the military in this country, and then you will now allow a civilian dictatorship?”

However, the PDP chieftain insisted that he does not regret Wike’s nomination as a minister by All Progressives Congress (APC) President Bola Tinubu.

News About Nigeria recalls that following differences over power sharing within the PDP, Wike and the other four governors who made up the G-5 in the PDP withdrew their support for Atiku Abubakar prior to the 2023 elections.

The former governor of Rivers supported the winner of the election, Tinubu, who repaid him by appointing him as FCT Minister.

Momodu and other PDP members have been demanding that Wike be kicked out of the party, but the minister dared the party’s leadership to suspend or punish him in a recent interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.

Before accepting the ministerial offer from President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), he claimed to have notified the PDP leadership.

Wike said that while serving in the APC administration, he was still a PDP leader.
