Ensure Nigerians Enjoy The Dividends Of Democracy - Bode George To Tinubu

The Former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has charged the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) to ensure that justice is served and the will of Nigerians prevail, News About Nigeria reports.

According to him, the people should be the ones to determine the winner of elections, not the judiciary.

Chief George, who said this to newsmen on Monday in Lagos State, lamented the fact that for a very long time, the judiciary has been the one telling the citizens who won or lost the election, notwithstanding the efforts and huge resources committed to the conduct of elections in the country.

The PDP chieftain, also stated that democracy is meant to be, the government of the people, by the people and for the people, not the government of the judiciary by the judiciary and for the judiciary.

Speaking on the 2023 General elections, George described the country’s electoral process as shambolic, and nonsensical, noting that such development made Nigeria nosedive due to manipulation of the system.

“Our electoral process is shambolic, nonsensical, and makes the country nosediving. It is the manipulation of the system.

“A glitch on the day of the election is unforgivable but INEC chairman told us they were ready but with what happened, generation to come will never forgive him,” George said.

George is an ardent critic of Tinubu and on many occasions, he had raised allegations bordering on corruption, and forgery amongst others against the President.

George, before the presidential election that brought Tinubu into power, said if would relocate if the former Lagos governor won the election. He has yet to do so.
