Former Kaduna senator Shehu Sani has advised Nigerians to put an eye on palliatives just as they continue to watch the Nigerian judiciary as it gears towards delivering its verdict at the ongoing Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
Giving this advice in a tweet on Tuesday Mr. Sani who advised Nigerians against paying all their attention to a particular issue suggested that they might not be able to track what happens at the other.
“Put one eye on the Judiciary and one eye on the palliative distribution, please. If you put all eyes in one place, magic may happen in the other place before you are back,” Mr Sani wrote.
His comment comes as supporters of Peter Obi’s presidential ambition continue to use the All Eyes on the judiciary phrase just as the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal announced the date that it will be delivering the verdict on Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar’s petition against the emergence of Bola Tinubu as the president of Nigeria.
News About Nigeria recounts that in the aftermath of the total elimination of fuel subsidies, President Bola Tinubu set out palliative measures to ease the impact on Nigerian citizens. Earlier in August, the president directed state governors to implement palliative measures and disbursed N5 billion.
However, as images of items provided by some state governors continue to circulate on social media, Nigerians have continued to express their dissatisfaction with the state governments.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu had while assuming office as the country’s president eliminated fuel subsidies, the move saw the pump price of fuel shoot up from N189 to over N600 per liter.
