FEC Meeting with Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has taken the helm at his first-ever Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, three months into his presidency, News About Nigeria reports.

The meeting is convened at the State House in Abuja, just one week after President Tinubu inaugurated 45 ministers who had before now, passed their screening, as confirmed by the Senate.

Addressing the newly sworn-in ministers during their inauguration, President Tinubu emphasized the importance of serving Nigeria with integrity and dignity.

He urged them to commence their assignments immediately, stating, “I expect that you will serve with integrity, dignity, and deliver. I will hold you to that standard we all promised Nigerians.”

In a notable shift from the previous administration under President Muhammadu Buhari, the FEC meetings will now take place every Monday of the week.

The presidency has received praise for the adjustment, which has been alluded to reflect President Tinubu’s approach to governance and decision-making.

Meanwhile, the Federal Executive Council plays a crucial constitutional role by advising the President on matters that shape the direction of the government.

While the President remains the ultimate executive decision-maker, the FEC serves as the federal government’s cabinet, offering counsel and recommendations to the President, who chairs the council.

While President Tinubu’s administration seems to be gaining momentum, he faces threatening court cases geared to delegitimize his government, on several grounds.

The said cases revolve around forged certificates, drug trafficking and more, and they have been tabled before the court which is yet to deliver the final verdict.
