One of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member in Oyo State has reportedly been decamped by the NYSC authorities, News About Nigeria understands.
The sanction comes as a result of a post on X in which he criticized the living conditions in one of the camp hostels and called for the abolition of the NYSC scheme.
The corps member, identified as Anthony, compared his dormitory, known as Ajimobi Hostel, to a Nigerian prison and urged for the immediate scrapping of the NYSC program.
In his tweet, he wrote, “Kirikiri >>> Ajimobi hostel. So I’ll be here for three weeks. Scrap NYSC now.” The tweet quickly gained traction on social media and drew the attention of NYSC officials, who traced it back to Anthony.
A video posted on his X account showcased the state of one of the hostels where corps members were lodged. One X user claimed that the corps member was sent away from the camp as a disciplinary action.
She cautioned fellow corps members to be mindful of their online posts, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the rules and regulations of the NYSC.
