Nigerians on social media have continued to react to a  now-viral video where the recently appointed minister of steel Shuaibu Audu was seen prostrated before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the ministerial inauguration ceremony that was held on Monday.

While a majority of the netizens suggested that the display of the minister portrayed that he was not deserving of the position, others expressed their excitement with the emergence of Mr Audu as the new minister of steel.

Reacting to the development Haruna Ibrahim suggested that the actions of the minister clearly showed that the selection process was not competency-based.

“This clearly indicates that the selection process was not competency based, but loyalty and Godfathers,” he wrote.
On his part, Naphtali who commended the minister for showing respect urged hm not to allow the respect “take your sense of reasoning, work well.”
On his part, Qudus said the minister was thanking the president for giving him and his family food.
“Thank you for giving me and my family Food prostration, the more these politicians see their self as a common citizen and as a public officer then the better it will be for our country unless one day Nigeria will plunge into a civil war and the real restructuring will happen,” he wrote.
On his part @K3N__TH argued that the action of the minister was a clear indication that he is loyal to the president and not to Nigerians.
“The evidence is clear their loyalty it’s to Tinubu not the Nigerian people. Don’t expect anything from this govt, the same thing Buhari did multiply it by a thousand,” he wrote.

News About Nigeria had earlier on Monday reported that  45 minister designates took their oath of office after their successful screening on the floor of the Nigerian Senate.

However, President Tinubu had during the inauguration charged the newly sworn-in ministers to be positive forces that will restore the faith of Nigerians in the government.
