Lagos socialite Farida Sobowale has finally spoken after her failed attempt to take her own life by jumping off the Third Mainland bridge.
News About Nigeria recalls that the socialite had earlier trended after trying to take her own life on Friday. Ms. Faridah was reportedly saved by good samaritans who prevented her from jumping into the river.
Giving reasons why she took the shocking decision to take her own life, the socialite explained that her husband betrayed, and deceived her.
According to the socialite, her husband failed to fulfill the promises he made to her. She disclosed that she married her now ex-husband against the advice of her family members and loved ones.
“Friends and families warned me not to go into the marriage. They told me that the man only wanted my money but I was recalcitrant. It was love that pushed me into this. He told me that he was going to be with me, make me bore children for him,” she said.
Apologizing to her loved ones and children for attempting to take her life, she disclosed that she had forgiven her ex-husband.
“I am so sorry for putting my children in such a position. I would not have forgiven myself if I had abandoned them after committing suicide. I have forgiven my ex-husband. May God provide him with another wife,” she added.
Recall that Farida and her estranged husband got into arguments, shared shocking details about their family on social media, attacked one another, and used profane language to describe one another.
