Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has suggested that Harry Kane prefers Manchester United over Bayern Munich, News About Nigeria reports.
Neville weighed in on the speculation surrounding Kane’s potential move and suggested that the England captain might prefer a move to Manchester United over Bayern Munich.
His remarks are based on his belief that Kane’s pursuit of the Premier League’s all-time goal record might lead him to favour a move to a domestic club.
Bayern Munich has made multiple unsuccessful bids for Kane, who is currently in the final year of his contract with Tottenham and could leave for free next summer.
Neville voiced his thoughts on The Overlap, stating, “I am hoping they are watching what is happening and being clever and waiting, seeing an £86m deal might get agreed with Bayern and Kane goes ‘I’m not going, I want to go to United’.”
Neville believes that Manchester United’s need for a striker like Kane is urgent, positioning them to challenge top contenders like City and Arsenal.
He emphasized, “United need Harry Kane and he puts them into that realm of catching City and Arsenal. They need someone right here, right now.”
The former Manchester United captain expressed skepticism about the possibility of Kane moving to Bayern Munich, suggesting that Kane’s preference might be to break the Premier League record rather than join the German club.
“Levy would be dead. He knows he won’t go to Munich otherwise he would accept it.”
