Senate Urges FG To Introduce Food Stamps To Alleviate Food Crisis

The Senate is waiting for more names of nominees to become ministers from 11 states.

News About Nigeria reports that the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, submitted a list of 28 ministerial nominees to the National Assembly within the 60-day deadline.

The states still waiting for their nominees are Adamawa, Bayelsa, Gombe, Kano, Kebbi, Kogi, Plateau, Lagos, Osun, Yobe, and Zamfara.

The President left out these states because there are some issues to be resolved among party leaders.

The Senate President, Goodwill Akpabio, read out the list of 28 nominees at the session, but he mentioned that this is not the complete list, and they expect more names to be added in the coming days.

Among the nominees, three states have two nominees each: Bauchi, Cross River, and Katsina. The names of the nominees and their respective states are as follows:

Akwa Ibom: Ekperikpe Ekpo

Cross River: Betta Edu

Cross River: John Enoh

Delta: Stella Okotete

Edo: Abubakar Momoh

Rivers: Nyesom Wike

Bauchi: Yusuf M Tuggar

Bauchi: Ali Pate

Borno: Abubakar Kyari

Taraba: Sani A Danladi

Jigawa: Mohamed Badaru

Kaduna: Nasir El-Rufai

Katsina: Ahmad Dangiwa

Katsina: Hanatu Musawa

Sokoto: Bello M Goronyo

Abia: Nkiru Onyejiocha

Anambra: Uju Ohaneye

Ebonyi: David Umahi

Enugu: Uche Nnaji

Imo: Doris Uzoka

Ekiti: Dele Alake

Ondo: Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo

Ogun: Olawale Edun

Oyo: Adebayo Adelabu

In other news the Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for North-West, Mallam Salihu Lukman, has officially quit his position.

He handed in his resignation letter to the Acting National Chairman of the party, Senator Abubakar Kyari, on Wednesday.
