Israel DMW, singer Davido’s personal logistics manager, real name Israel Afeare has given his response and apologetic message to those who found an offence to the music video his boss shared on social media.
Nigerian singer, Davido had been making headlines recently after sharing a promotional video snippet for his new signee, Logos Olori.
The video, as seen, contained a moment a group of men dressed in Jalamiya, an outfit worn by the Islamic group, praying and dancing in front of a mosque, News About Nigeria gathered.
The video, however, sparked outrage among the Muslim community in the nation, and they wasted no time taking to social media ped to express their displeasure with the singer.
They all ordered him to take down the video and tender an apology to them.
Some prominent Nigerian Muslims including a former aide to ex-president Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, Senator Shehu Sani, actor, Ali Nuhi, asked Davido to take down the video and apologise to Muslims for “disrespecting” their religion.
Following the outrage, Davido ultimately caved to pressure and withdrew the video, but without apologizing.
His aide, Israel DMW, has now taken an effort to apologize on his boss’s behalf, claiming that the video was harmless and that they didn’t anticipate it to make such a stir.
He wrote on his Instastory,
“Let me specially apologise to my Muslims brothers and sisters, on the video my oga posted, as a result of him wanting to lift up somebody, which is one of his hubbies. It was purely an entertainment effort wrongly presented.
Make una no vex. Love you all.”
