Manchester United have insisted they will not increase their £60 million bid for Atlanta forward Rasmus Hojlund, News About Nigeria reports.

United’s pursuit of Hojlund has become the focal point of their summer transfer plans as manager Erik ten Hag looks to bolster his attacking options for the upcoming season.

The 20-year-old Danish forward has emerged as United’s number one target, but the club is reluctant to exceed their £60 million valuation for the young talent.

Previously, United had set their sights on securing the services of Tottenham Hotspur’s star striker, Harry Kane, but they were deterred from making a bid for the Englishman.

As a result, Football Director John Murtough initiated discussions with Atalanta over the potential transfer of Hojlund. However, negotiations have hit a roadblock as the Serie A side is holding out for a higher fee.

The Manchester Evening News reported that Murtough expressed disappointment over the Italian media’s coverage of the negotiations, which has been sensationalized and created unnecessary drama around the transfer talks.

Despite the challenges, United remains keen to land a quality striker before the transfer window closes.

United’s need for a prolific striker is evident, and the club is optimistic about securing a suitable candidate to bolster their attacking options.

However, they are also well aware of the financial constraints and acknowledge the difficulty in striking a deal that meets everyone’s expectations.

While United remains committed to strengthening their squad, they are determined not to overspend and will be prudent in their approach to acquiring new talents.

The transfer saga surrounding Rasmus Hojlund has garnered reactions but the club’s leadership is focused on securing a deal that aligns with their financial strategy while addressing their immediate need for a reliable goalscorer.
