Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha suggests Governor Seyi Makinde could have won a third term in office, News About Nigeria reports.
The governor has done a good job of winning the confidence and respect of the people of the State.
This was stated by Mustapha on Tuesday in a statement of appreciation for the appointment of Professor Olanike Adeyemo, an Iseyin native and the very first Oke-Ogun woman to serve as Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
Oke Ogun people voted for Governor Makinde due to prioritizing human capital development and development projects in Oyo State.
He also added, “I have always said it, and I will repeat it again, that had it been that the Nigerian constitution permitted our governor to go for the third term, he would have had a smooth ride to victory;
“he has done so much that people have seen all over the State, both on human capital development and social infrastructures.
“The people of Oke-Ogun have shown the governor their natural way of giving support to a leader“,
The Oke-Ogun community in general and the Iseyin people in particular are appreciating His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde for deeming it fit to appoint Professor Kudirat Olanike Adeyemo, a former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, as the next Secretary to the Oyo State Government.
In addition to congratulating the new SSG on her appointment, Alhaji Omokunmi Mustapha asked her to carry on representing Iseyin, Oke-Ogun, and Oyo State with honor.
“You have been on the front burner of human development projects and exercises at home and abroad; you will be expected to domesticate your experience by using it to better the people of Oyo State,” he added.
