Phrank Shaibu, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atiku Abubakar’s public communications assistant, has accused the All-Progressives Congress (APC) of intimidating and harassing the courts.

This accusation comes after the PDP presidential candidate Atiku, claimed that there were plans to compromise the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) by intimidating and manipulating the judges.

In response, the Tinubu-led administration described Atiku’s accusations as bogus.

Shaibu, however, criticized the response from the government in an interview with newsagents on Monday, News About Nigeria reports.

He described it as “an unpresidential remark, an unpresidential rebuttal from a government that prides itself on being advocates of the rule of law and democracy.”

Nobody can categorize apprehension and the statement we issued as frivolous or spurious“. He added.

The Peoples’ Democratic Party expressed these worries after noticing that APC appeared to be repeating acts from 2019.

He said, “We raised the alarm because we know their plot. We know that they have a penchant; we know that it’s their stock in trade to intimidate and harass the judiciary. I’ve provided evidence of what they did in 2019, and they’ve started treading on the same road.

We are saying that this man, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom INEC claimed won the election, has been sworn in into power; we don’t have a problem with that. Atiku is a man you know who loves peace“.

But in the same interview, Musa Sarkin Adar, a congressman for the Goronyo/Gada Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said that the accusations made against the ruling All Progressives Congress were attempts by individuals who insisted they had won the election to blackmail the president and the APC.

He asked the others to collaborate with President Tinubu for a better Nigeria.

Adar added, “This country needs to move forward. We have seen in the past all the attempts that have been made by the opposition parties blackmailing, all this and that during the campaign. The campaign has come and gone. Please, let us start building the nation.”
