Operation Hakorin Damisa IV, also known as “Leopard’s Teeth,” is a brand-new military operation that the Nigerian Army has begun in Plateau State.
According to News About Nigeria, the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, started the operation on Saturday to put an end to the recent series of attacks and deaths in the state.

Major General Lagbaja stated that the Nigerian Army has been given the task of bringing peace to the state while speaking at the beginning of the operation in Mangu Local Government Area.
The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, had been urged by the House of Representatives to declare a national emergency in Plateau State as a result of ongoing terrorist assaults.
After a motion of important public concern on the necessity for immediate action in the killings in several local government districts in the state, the House requested on July 11, 2023.
Dachung Bagos, a representative for the Jos South/North Federal Constituency in the House, made the motion.
According to Bagos, the recent attacks on the communities had resulted in the deaths of more than 300 people, serious injuries to several other people, the destruction of property, and the eviction of close to 18,000 people.
He shared concern regarding the continuous terrorist attacks in the state, saying that if they weren’t stopped soon, agricultural output would suffer.
The House also demanded that Operation Safe Haven locate and evacuate every bandit cell in the state.
To avoid attacks and allow innocent farmers to return to their fields and ancestral homes, the House also demanded that security officers provide aircraft monitoring and aid in arresting the terrorists and demolishing their camps.
