Two teenagers were rescued by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Akwa Ibom State Command during a hotel operation in the state’s Ini Local Government Area.

DSC Ekerete Friday, the Command’s Public Relations officer, revealed this in a statement on Thursday. She said the operatives raided the location on Saturday, July 15, 2023, after receiving information from another teen who was helped to escape after being persuaded to sleep with men at the hotel against her will, News About Nigeria reports.

According to the statement, the girl who was saved was taken away from her parents to work at the hotel as a sales attendant in the bar/restaurant sector. She was faithfully performing her duties until Madam Imaobong, the hotel owner’s wife, ordered her to have sex with a guy against her will.

She claimed to have escaped and made touch with NSCDC representatives in the state, who took quick action.

When the NSCDC stormed the hotel, the victims were saved. They admitted to occasionally sleeping with men and giving the money to Madam Imaobong, who is still at large.

In the statement, “The Akwa Ibom State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps acting on intelligence raided a hotel in Ini LGA of Akwa Ibom State suspected to be engaged in under-aged prostitution.

The raid followed from intelligence provided by one of the victims who was assisted to escape after being lured into sleeping with men at the hotel against her wish”.

According to the statement, the suspect lures children and young females with the promise of a job only to use them for prostitution and also have their names changed once they get to the hotel.

It said that Eluyemi Eluwade, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, warned parents and guardians to be careful of the new strategies used by such criminals to entice young girls into unlawful activities.
