Joshua Mike-Bamiloye, the son of renowned Mount Zion Films founder, Mike-Bamiloye, has issued a warning to self-proclaimed genuine Christians, News About Nigeria reports.
The father of one took to his Twitter page on Monday afternoon advising Christians to steer clear of attending secular shows.
He expressed the belief that it is not ideal for individuals who identify as genuine Christians to either attend or partake in shows and concerts featuring secular artistes such as Davido, Wizkid, or Rema as they often tend to use lewd, offensive or vulgar lyrics in their songs.
“Honestly, if you consider yourself a genuine Christian, it’s not appropriate to participate in shows or concerts by secular artists like Davido, Wizkid, Rema, etc.
“Some might argue against this view, but those who are guided by the Holy Spirit understand where to set boundaries.”
Relationship coach, Solomon Buchi took to Joshua’s comment section to air his opinion in agreement.
He suggested that gospel artists should not participate in award shows saying if there are no award shows for pastors, there wouldn’t be for gospel singers.
“Add Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, all those international ones that they can save for a year to buy their tickets.
I agree. I also think that gospel musicians should not participate in award shows.
If there’s no award show for pastors, there should be none for GOSPEL ministers”, Buchi commented.
Another tweep who seemed to disagree with Joshua wrote:
“In other words, the “Mount Zion Faith Ministries” owned by your folks (presumably) will return any title or offering from the above artists and their associates? Or your version of Christendom only forbids their art and accepts their largesse.”
