The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has declared that it will impose punishments on any member found to violate the rules, taking a tough position against infractions of its dress code and regulations.
This statement was made on Sunday during a visit by Brig.-Gen. Yusha’u Dogara, the NYSC Director General (DG), to the Borno NYSC orientation camp in Katsina.
Members of the corps deployed to Borno State have been moved to the camp in Katsina State due to security concerns in the area.
Dogara used the chance to emphasize the need of adhering to the official dress code and dressing appropriately for every occasion.
The DG also underlined the value of discipline and exhorted the corps members to closely follow directions and abstain from indulging in bad behavior that is typically associated with youthful exuberance.
He also underlined the necessity to acquire authorization if necessary and advised against traveling illegally, recalling the terrible cases of corps members who went missing and whose whereabouts were unknown.
Dogara emphasized the value of tolerance and urged the corps members to act with respect and understanding for one another throughout the orientation activity, saying that by doing so, the goals of the plan could be accomplished.
According to News About Nigeria, the DG praised the corps members for their outstanding behavior so far and highlighted the necessity for them to maintain discipline and refrain from doing any actions that may defeat the point of their participation.
And he also counseled the corps members to take part in productive pursuits that would advance their personal development.
