Mmesoma’s Father Appeals for Forgiveness from JAMB and Nigerians, News About Nigeria reports.
Mr Romanus Ejikeme, the father of Mmesoma Ejikeme, has publicly apologized to the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the Nigerian public.
During a video interview with the Nigerian Television Authority, Mr Ejikeme revealed that his daughter had deceived him, but now that he knows the truth, he earnestly hopes that JAMB will show leniency towards his daughter.
The admission of wrongdoing came after an Anambra State Government committee of inquiry, established to investigate the controversy surrounding the JAMB result, found Mmesoma guilty of independently forging her result.
“My daughter did not confide in me on time; when I discovered her mistake, I scolded her,” he shared.
“I told her to be careful; you know you are a star and mustn’t tarnish your image. But as a father, I am still appealing to JAMB and Nigerians to pardon her.”
On Saturday, July 8, 2023, former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, voiced her support for the findings of the Anambra State committee panel, which implicated Ejike Mmesoma in the forgery of her JAMB result.
Through her official Twitter handle, @obyezeks, she expressed satisfaction with the investigation process and the panel’s conclusions.
Ezekwesili emphasized that the panel’s report indicated that Mmesoma received a fair hearing, and the facts presented in the report justified any consequences she may face for her actions.
The Anambra State Government Committee of Inquiry, comprising professors and ICT experts, examined all the evidence from JAMB and Miss Mmesoma.
In their comprehensive eight-page report, they revealed that Mmesoma had admitted to falsifying her results using her mobile phone, without any external motivation or assistance.
