Andy Ruiz’s father has strongly criticized Deontay Wilder for making an absurd 70/30 offer to fight his son, News About Nigeria, reports.

Ruiz Sr, who branded Deontay Wilder a ‘liar,’ has insisted that his son will only agree to fight the boxing champion if a 50/50 split is offered.

The anticipated match between Andy Ruiz Jr and Wilder, scheduled for August or September, has hit a roadblock due to the poor negotiations between the two parties.

Earlier this week, Wilder publicly released a video message, urging Ruiz to accept his contract. He took a dig at Ruiz’s father in the caption, stating, “Stop playing around @Andy_Destroyer13 and be a man, make your own decisions, and don’t allow your daddy to ruin your last few years #DaddyBoy.”

Wilder continued, “It’s fine to have a father figure, but you’re a grown-ass man with dependents relying on you. Remember that before it’s too late, and you’ll have regrets while your father lectures you on how you should have saved your money, lol.”

Responding to Wilder’s comments, Ruiz Sr expressed that his son cannot accept an unreasonable deal for a fighter.

“He and his trainer, Malik Scott, want Andy to accept a ridiculous amount of money. But Andy is not just any name. Andy is a former world champion, the first Mexican heavyweight world champion in history. He has made history,” Ruiz Sr asserted.

“Wilder wants to offer Andy around 30 percent. We believe it should be a 50-50 split because Wilder is no longer a champion. He is coming off a very poor fight against a sparring partner, Robert Helenius. I even think that sparring partner took a dive. Meanwhile, Andy just came from a tough fight against Luis Ortiz that lasted 12 rounds.”
