Don’t Let Others Dictate Your Career – Wilder Challenges Ruiz To Accept Fight Offer

Deontay Wilder has challenged fellow heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz to take charge of his own career and accept his fight offer, News About Nigeria reports.

Wilder made this call over the weekend in an intense video message, asking Ruiz to try and finalise their heavyweight clash.

The WBC heavyweight champion spewed several challenging words in the video, to get Ruiz to succumb.

Recall that both fighters are in advanced negotiations trying to finalise a fight, which is understood to be targeted for August/September.

Last week, Wilder’s trainer Malik Scott made talks public when he announced that Ruiz had received a huge offer for the clash.

On Saturday, Ruiz replied Scott – “Wilder, we’re coming man, we’re just negotiating right now.” But the Bronze Bomber was growing impatient less than 24 hours after Ruiz’s message, demanding more from the fighter in a video message.

“Hey Andy. It’s time up for the games now buddy,” he said, bragging “Let’s get this fight on man. We offered you a hell of a lot of money.

“Now one thing I don’t want – I don’t want you to allow others to dictate your career at this moment in time.

“It’s only a short period of time that you have. You gotta man up to your responsibilities.

“Because if you allow others to dictate your life at this point in time, you’re gonna end up with nothing, zero, broke my man. Okay? So make wise decisions,” Wilder continued.

Going further, he said, “You only have a limited time left to make as much money as you possibly can. Don’t allow others to interfere with this, you make the decision.

“It wouldn’t be fair to you or your kids for you to miss out on zeros because you allow others to interfere with your career at this moment in time.

However, in a very short response, Ruiz said “Let’s goo.”

If Ruiz’s response is anything to go by, it means both men will test gloves almost the same time Anthony Joshua will have his potential fight with Dillian Whyte, four months before the famous Saudi fight with Wilder.
