Idrissu Amin, also known as Idi Amin, a member of the Presidential Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a close associate of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has passed away, News About Nigeria has learned.
According to sources within his family, the former chairman of Maiha Local Government Council in Adamawa State succumbed to a long-term illness.
Idi Amin, who shared a name with the renowned former Ugandan President Idi Amin, became widely recognized in Adamawa for his charismatic personality.
Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Adamawa State, expressed his condolences in a sincere message.
In his statement, he expressed, “I extend my deepest sympathies to the family as we grieve the loss of a fearless political activist who was a leader in his own right. We are further saddened by this loss, especially at a time when the State greatly needs the services of Honorable Idi Amin.
