Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, is reportedly growing increasingly frustrated with the prolonged delay in the Glazer family’s response to the potential takeover of the club, News About Nigeria reports.

Since the conclusion of the 2022/23 Premier League season, which saw United secure qualification for the UEFA Champions League, the club has failed to make any significant moves to strengthen their squad through player acquisitions.

Despite Ten Hag’s plea for “better players” following United’s impressive 4-1 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford on May 25, which secured their immediate return to Europe’s elite club competition, it appears that no action has been taken by the club’s hierarchy.

Almost a month has passed since the monumental victory that propelled them back into the Champions League, yet the Glazer family has maintained a steadfast silence regarding any attempts to assist United in reducing their debts and acquiring new players, despite interest from potential bidders such as Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

The club’s manager is growing increasingly skeptical as he continues to miss out on summer transfer market opportunities to sign players who would enhance the team’s chances of winning tournaments.

Ten Hag had previously emphasized the necessity for better players in order to compete in the upcoming season of the Champions League.

“We require more,” expressed Ten Hag. “Currently, we are far behind, so there is a substantial amount of work ahead. We have made progress, but if we desire to contend at the highest level, we need superior players. Nonetheless, I am not a patient person, and that has been one of my shortcomings.”

The protracted takeover saga surrounding Manchester United, coupled with the Glazer family’s historical reluctance to invest significantly following Champions League qualification, has jeopardized Ten Hag’s aspirations of reinforcing his squad.
