Emmanuel Petit, former Arsenal and Chelsea player has urged Harry Kane to make a decisive choice about his future with Tottenham before it’s too late, News About Nigeria reports.
Petit emphasized that as Kane continues to put his trust in Tottenham, he is running out of options. The Frenchman outlined four potential choices that Kane should contemplate at this stage of his career in order to avoid becoming irrelevant, just as he used to be.
As it is widely known, Kane, the Tottenham striker, has been heavily linked with a move away from the club this summer, given that he has only one year remaining on his contract in north London.
Petit’s top suggestion is for the 29-year-old to consider a move outside of England. He stated, “We have been asking the same question of Harry Kane every season: Does he want to go somewhere else? Because I believe that year after year, there will come a time when it’s too late for him to leave Tottenham. He has only two options: either he stays at the club until the end and becomes an ambassador or a manager, where he will be cherished by the Spurs fans for a long time.”
Petit further noted, “The other option is for him to potentially join Manchester United, especially considering that Weghorst has not been performing well since he joined the club. Furthermore, Chelsea still lacks a striker despite their vast investments in the transfer market and their talented squad.”
He continued, “For me if he desires to move, there are only two viable options within the Premier League. He cannot join Chelsea due to the rivalry between Spurs and Chelsea, and the rivalry with Arsenal is even stronger, so he won’t be joining Arsenal. Therefore, Manchester United is the only option apart from Spurs.”
Petit suggested that Kane should also contemplate a move to Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich, as they are the only two clubs outside England that can afford him.
“If he wishes to move abroad, there are two perfect clubs for him—PSG and Bayern Munich. When I look at Bayern Munich, I hold great respect for Choupo-Moting, but he is the sole striker. There are only two clubs outside of England that can afford and acquire Harry Kane: PSG and Bayern Munich. In the Premier League, there is only one club for me, and that is Manchester United,” Petit concluded.
