A WhatsApp conversation between a male corps member and a female undergraduate has caused quite a stir online.
The guy, known as Oluwaseyo, had asked the lady, Esther, out on a date, but she declined and gave a lengthy explanation to defend her decision.
News About Nigeria understands that according to the conversation which has been circulating on social media platforms, Esther said that she does not date corps members, and one of the reasons she gave was that Oluwaseyo may not be able to take care of her because he’s struggling and dependent on the allowance from NYSC.
Esther further explained that she believes he does not have the resources to take care of a lady like her, and so she could only agree to remain friends with him.
The stunned Oluwaseyo could only reply with, “What!!!!”
The conversation sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some people praising Esther for being straightforward and honest, while others criticised her for being materialistic.
