280 Days Later, Rema’s ‘Rave & Roses’ Makes History, Becomes First Nigerian Album To Chart On ‘Billboard World Albums’

Popular award-winning Mavin music star, Rema has made history again as his debut music album “Rave and Roses” set the record as the first Nigeria album to chart on ‘Billboard World Album’ for 40 weeks (280 days), News About Nigeria reports.

Rave and Roses was released on March 25, 2022, and contained 16 outstanding tracks, including the popular “Hold Me and Divine.”

The Album featured popular international music stars like Chris Brown, Rapper- 6Lack, British rapper- AJ Tracey and singer, Yseult.

The project came a few years after Rema stole the spotlight with his trio, FYN (Fresh Young Nigga), Soundgasm & Calm Down, which, however, made it to the album.

The singer and songwriter were born May 1, 2000, and rose to fame in 2019 when he released “Dumebi”.

The Nigerian star went ahead to sign a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records. Rema has featured some notable international music stars like Selena Gomez, who featured in the “Calm Down” remix.

Rema’s Portfolio is not without awards that have stood him out from other celebrity musicians in the country.

In October 2019, Rema won ‘Next Rated’ and was nominated for Viewer’s Choice at the 13th edition of The Headies. In January 2020, he received the Soundcity MVP Award for the best new artist.

Moving on in June of the same year, He was nominated as Best Viewers Choice: International Act at the 2020 BET Awards. He was nominated alongside Burna Boy and Wizkid, they were the only Nigerian artists nominated for the awards edition in 2020.
