Jurgen Klopp has counted himself lucky at Liverpool, following his team’s poor performance since start of the season which dragged them out of the league’s top four teams.
Klopp admitted that the season has been tough for his side but unlike many other clubs, the management of Liverpool still believes in him to continue as the manager, News About Nigeria gathered.
He said this has further motivated the team to pick up themselves back into winning ways in recent matches, going seven games unbeaten, winning five in a roll.
“It is a very difficult season for us, that’s the truth, but we all feel better now after winning a few games, it’s the biggest mood changer in the world of football.
“The main difference here is in a lot of other clubs, the manager would have been sent away. That’s not cool but on the other hand, you don’t have to go through it for that long,” he said.
Klopp who looked forward to a new season, claimed his team is now out of their crisis period.
“I’m still looking forward to a new season, that’s true, that hasn’t changed. We have the information we wanted to have, how the boys go through situations like that. You can always take something out of difficult periods and that’s what we did.
“The way you behave in a crisis defines what you will be after the crisis. I thought we went through okay, nothing between me and the players, the club, nothing. We knew we are responsible for it but we have to solve it together.
Liverpool have so far played 34 league games, winning 17, with eight draws and nine losses.
The club currently sit 5th on the league table, with the hopes of making it into the big four, for next season’s Champions League spot.
They play host to Brentford today by 5:30 pm, West African Time.
