According to her Fiancé, who shared his side of the story on Nairaland, the 23 years old woman called him in a state of distress, expressing a desire to end her life.
However, when pressed for details about what was troubling her, she remained tight-lipped, leaving her partner frustrated and angry, News About Nigeria reports.
“I got angry and told her to get off the phone if she couldn’t say what her problem was,” he later confessed. “I should have been patient and listened to her, but I was just so frustrated at the time”, the Fiancé wrote.
Tragically, the woman’s sister broke the devastating news to the fiancé the following morning, revealing that she had taken her own life. Overcome with guilt and remorse, the man expressed his deep regret at not having been there for his partner when she needed him most.
“I should have calmed her down. I should have been patient and listened to her,” he said. “But I was just angry because she didn’t say anything on time. I feel so guilty. I’m down.”
