NDLEA Foils Attempt to Export Canadian Loud to Kenya

In a recent development, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Nigeria has foiled an attempt to export Canadian Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis, to Kenya News About Nigeria Reports.

The attempt was made by a freight agent, Mordi Chukwuemeka Samuel, who tried to conceal 900 grams of the substance inside the walls of a traveling bag containing food items.

The incident took place at the SAHCO export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Saturday, 29th April. NDLEA officers noticed that the side walls of the bag were unevenly bloated, and upon searching the consignment, they discovered the illicit substance.

This comes as NDLEA operatives at the Tincan port in Lagos intercepted 126 parcels of Canadian Loud, weighing 63 kilograms, concealed in a used Toyota Corolla car imported from Toronto, Canada.

The drugs were packed in bags in the boot of one of the five used vehicles in a container marked TLLU4840762 coming from Toronto via Montreal, during a joint examination with other stakeholders at the port.

In addition to these seizures, NDLEA operatives attached to courier firms also intercepted 1.53kg of skunk concealed in old hard drives meant for export to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), has commended the officers and men of the MMIA, Tincan, DOGI, Kano, Ondo, Oyo, Benue, and Adamawa Commands of the Agency for their vigilance and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities. He urged them and their colleagues across the country not to rest on their oars in the fight against drug trafficking.

The NDLEA has been making significant strides in its efforts to combat drug trafficking in Nigeria, with various seizures being made across different parts of the country. The Agency has called on the public to join in the fight against the menace of illicit drugs by providing useful information to the NDLEA.
