Tochi, a former housemate of the popular Nigerian reality TV show, Big Brother Naija 2020, has shared advice for men who discover that they are dating a woman who cannot financially support them.
As confirmed by News About Nigeria, in a post on his Instagram story, Tochi stated that a woman should be able to “chest” a bill of N500,000 (approximately $1,230) when her partner’s card declines.
He further advised that if she is unable to do so, then the boyfriend should “pick up his footwear and take to his heels.”
Tochi’s advice to men on financial support from their partners quickly gained attention on social media, with mixed reactions from the public.
He wrote; “If your babe can not chest a bill of 500k when your card declines my guy! Remove your shoe hold it in your hand! and run.”

Some people agreed with his stance, stating that both partners in a relationship should be able to support each other financially.
Others, however, criticized his views, stating that financial support in a relationship should not be based on gender roles or expectations.
Tochi, whose real name is Tochukwu Okechukwu, gained fame as a housemate in the Big Brother Naija Lockdown edition in 2020.
