Lionel Messi is set to earn two times more than the current salary of Al-Nassr striker, Cristiano Ronaldo if he accepts the offer from the Saudi Arabia side Al-Hilal after the termination of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in June.

News About Nigeria gathered that Lionel Messi is unlikely to reach an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to extend his stay at the club.

Recall that Messi left Barcelona for Paris Saint Germain in the summer of 2021 after Barcelona, his childhood club failed to extend his contract due to financial crisis.

The 35-year-old then joined PSG on a two-year deal, with an extension option.

With the contract termination date drawing close, Messi and PSG meetings reach a dead-end each time.

The French champions want Messi to take a 25% pay cut from his existing salary, which is worth €40 million a year.

These controversies sparked speculations that the Argentine football star most likely will leave the club.

Messi in recent reports has also been a subject of PSG fans’ mockery, with several boos before, during, and after each game he played that didn’t go their way.

In the midst of all these, the Saudi Arabian side, Al-Hilal utilized the opportunity to offer Messi a deal worth $438 million a year.

Should Messi accept the offer ahead of this summer transfer window, the 7 times Ballon d’Or winner would earn over $223 million more than his arch-rival Ronaldo while remaining the highest-paid athlete in the world.
