As the 2023 general elections draw near, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of sensitive election materials to the 20 local government areas in Lagos State.

News About Nigeria understands that the decision is in preparation for the Presidential and National Assembly elections, which are scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

The distribution of sensitive election materials is a crucial aspect of the electoral process. These materials include ballot papers, result sheets, and other necessary items that are needed for a smooth and successful election.

The distribution of these materials is also an essential part of ensuring that the electoral process is free and fair, and that every vote counts.

Confirming the commencement of the distribution of the materials, the Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the process was monitored by the Commission of Police in the State, CP Idowu Owohunwa.

This is a vital step in ensuring that the election materials are not tampered with, stolen, or destroyed.

The timely distribution of sensitive election materials is crucial to the success of the electoral process. It ensures that materials are delivered to polling units in good time and that electoral officers have enough time to prepare for the election.

It also reduces the risk of delays or disruption to the electoral process on the day of the election.
